Ahmet Ismaili serves as Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK) and chairs its Executive Board. With nearly two decades of experience in banking and finance, he has held high-level leadership roles across both the public and private sectors. He previously served as General Director of the State Treasury and held key governance positions in the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund (KEEF) and the Health Insurance Fund (HIF). Dr. Ismaili holds a PhD in Economics from Pristina Public University and has taught banking and finance at the University of Prishtina. He represents Kosovo on the IMF Board of Governors and as Alternate Governor for the World Bank Group (WBG).

Dr. Natasha Ahmetaj has served as the Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Albania since May 6, 2015, and as a member of its Supervisory Council since December 2014. Dr. Ahmetaj also worked in the banking sector, notably at the National Commercial Bank (BKT), where she held leadership roles. Dr. Nikola Fabris is the Vice-Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG), a position he has held since 2013. Dr. Fabris has served as the Chief Economist of CBCG, as well as holding various international roles, including Deputy Governor of Montenegro at the IMF Board of Governors. Between 2007 and 2019, he led EBRD’s energy efficiency and renewable energy work in Eastern Europe, contributing to €2 billion in investments. Previously, he held leadership roles at leading banks and was a Counselor to the Governor of the Central Bank. He holds a PhD in Economics and has been instrumental in improving Kosovo’s financial markets, contributing to greater transparency and the development of the country’s financial infrastructure.

Sokol Shasivari

Sokol Shasivari is an experienced financial supervisor with nearly 17 years in banking and insurance regulation. He has been with the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK) since 2008, holding various supervisory roles. In January 2025, he was appointed Director of the Department overseeing MFIs, NBFIs, PIs, EMIs, and crypto-asset operators. Previously, he led the On-Site Insurance Supervision Division and spent a decade in banking supervision. From 2021 to 2024, he served on the Board of the Kosovo Council for Financial Reporting (KCFR), including a period as Acting Chair. Mr. Shasivari holds a Master’s degree in Financial Markets and Banking and has contributed to major reforms including IFRS 9, Basel II, and risk-based supervision.

Sytrimja is a senior expert in economic development and international trade with over 15 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. She played a key role in designing trade policies and fostering private sector growth. She was part of state delegations in international trade negotiations. A certified trainer in Circular Economy and a Consultant for the World Bank Group/IFC, she actively supports strengthening private sector initiatives and specialized government institutions. Sytrimja holds a degree from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Pristina and a Master’s in Public Administration from the American University in Kosovo.

He holds a PhD in Economics from Marche Polytechnic University, with research focused on international capital flows and manufacturing growth. He has advised the Government of Kosovo and currently chairs the Board of Termokos.
